Our story was one similar to a fairytale, the kind of book you start reading and never want to put down, the first few scenes of a movie where you already know 'this is going to be good'.

We met at the Oxpecker Trail Run, and it took only a few minutes of dancing next to him for me to decide to hold his hand, incase I lost him in the crowd. I already knew after a few minutes of small talk that this was something to hold onto.

We became instant best friends, and realised that we are SO similar in so many ways.

It wasn't a week later and we went out for dinner. I remember laughing for hours. 

The friendship grew from strength to strength, and Theunis asked me to be his girlfriend, stating that his wish after seeing a shooting star was to be together. Little did he know that I had been wishing the same thing for the past few months. Loving him was so easy. He already felt like home to me.

Fast forward a few months, he had planned a horse ride to a waterfall in the baby Drakensburg, where he had his family hiding in the trees and the most perfect picnic set up for our engagement. It was all perfect.

He got down on one knee, and I had to check it wasn't a joke. I first cried, and then said the easiest YES to forever with my best friend!
